Six Sentence Sunday 2-26-11

I had quite a few people who asked if I would continue with Kyle and Erin this week, and since they asked so nicely, I will. We are still in Erin's POV this week, and we pick up right where we left off last week. Things are getting more steamy between these two.

“Say it, Erin. I want to hear you say it,” he urged her.

How could he have known she didn’t want control in the bedroom, that it was one of her fantasies? One that she’d thought of more than once while masturbating late at night. One that she’d never voiced to anyone, and here he seemed to just know. All day at work, she had to be in control. Tonight she wanted to be different. She wanted to shed those restraints.

My New Website!

As I said on yesterday's blog I had someone working on a website for me, and me let me just say that she rocks. Late list night around midnight I got an email from her saying it was ready. It looks so good I'm just so happy with what she did for me. I looked over other sites she'd done before deciding on using her.I knew she did good work, but I never would have thought she'd come up with what she did. No worries about the blog it's staying right here. She even made a layout for my blog to match my website.

Here's the link to my site. Let me know what you think.

WIP Wednesday

So,
what's been going on this week in my writing let's see? Well, I started a new book and got it all plotted out with the help of a writing friend. Then I had the bright idea let's use a writing software to keep all my stuff in one spot. My muse decided oh hell no on that and the character's stopped talking to me. There's nothing like getting the first chapter written and then nothing else. So, I dumped the writing software and went back to using Word and lo and behold, they started talking to me. It looks like I'm one of those that has to use Word and nothing else to write.

I'm making good headway on the book now and really liking where it's going. This book is really going to push me out of even more of my comfort zone, and that's okay. It's going to have some bondage in there, and I've never written anything like that before. I'm not sure how light or hard it will be...I'm going to let the characters do the telling on that one.

My web designer is working on a web site for me. I have to say she rocks! I saw the draft of it the other night and I just love it. I've let a few close friends see it as well and they all love it, too. She's working on the final draft now and I can't wait to show it once it's finished.

That's about it for this week's WIP Wednesday. Of course, I won't leave you without a small snippet from my writing this week. This is from Katie's point of view:

Chris took possession of her mouth and delved his tongue further, forcing her to open willingly to him and his touch. His hand slid up to cup her hip and pulled her tight against his body.

Six Sentence Sunday 2-20-11

I heard about Six Sentence Sunday from another author and decided to join in. So, this week's is from my soon to be released book Road to Recovery. It's an unedited version. We're in Erin's POV.

“Are you wet for me?” Kyle asked as he caressed a hand across her arm.

“Yes.”

“What do you want me to do?”
She’d never been one to talk dirty during sex, but he wanted her to say it, and God knows she wanted him to do it. She squeezed her legs together as moisture trailed between her legs.

Here are my random facts:

WIP Wednesday

This week's WIP blog is going to be a little different. So, I've been working this week to plot out a new book that might end up being in a series with my last book. I have to get it written and turned in and let my editor decide. I had a good chat with another writing friend, and she helped me flesh out the plot. Today I'm going to work on plotting out the rest and getting my chapter by chapter outline done, and then I'll be ready to start writing some more on their story. My goal is to have the first draft done by the end of March.

Let's see what I can find to share this week. I started some on Chad and Katie's story, so here's a little peak into chapter one.

“Believe me, if I’d been in your bed last night...” Chad brushed his knuckles against her arm, as he moved closer to her ear. His voice dropped to a sexy gravel. “You’d be so saturated with the sensation of my cock inside of you that you wouldn’t be able to walk or stop smiling.”

Valentine's Day with Kyle & Erin

I won't be able to do a blog post today due to kids' Valentine Parties at school. So I've asked Kyle and Erin from my debut book Road to Recovery, to come and do the post for me. I'm still not sure this will be a good idea, as you never know what will come out of Kyle's mouth, but Erin assured me that she'll make sure he behaves. Stay tuned at the end of the post for a chocolate cake recipe that I make every year on Valentine's Day.

I swear I never thought she'd leave. Alyssa seriously needs to learn to let go of some control. It would do her some good. Anyway, so today is Valentine's Day and for once, Kyle and I have a day off at the same time. That's not always the case, so when it happens it's nice. Kyle should be here shortly, but, well you see, we were making that cake that Alyssa mentioned above, and we ended up in a cake batter fight. It was all his fault of course, so I made him clean up the kitchen. Enough about that, I should get back on the topic.

This is Kyle and my first Valentine's together. Well, I have a confession. I never had a boyfriend before on this day. I always broke things off before it got too serious and one of my biggest things was absolutely no Valentine for me on this day. What the hell was I thinking having that rule?

I know I had to be like the only woman out there that thought this way. This is what so many women look forward to, seeing what their significant other will get them. Over the years, it was another day for me. I never paid attention when the day was. Well, not this year. Kyle knew all of this about me, and he wouldn't let us just have it pass as another day.

Let's just say I've had a change of heart after seeing Kyle in the kitchen with nothing on but a pair of tight fitting jeans as he cooked breakfast for us this morning. I thought that would be all he did, but no, not Mr. Arrogant Ass as I like to call him at times. He had flowers delivered and we've spent the day together turning off our cell phones and the home phone, so no one would interrupt us.

"Erin, come join me in the shower. I can help you get all the batter out of those hard to reach places."

"Behave, Kyle, we're supposed to be doing the blog post for Alyssa."

"No, you agreed to it. I never did."

"I'll be there in a minute."

I really should get moving. This cake batter is super sticky, and now my keyboard is all sticky. We can't wait for people to read our story. Alyssa will keep you posted when it's supposed to come out. Oh yeah, before I go, I have a question for everyone.

What's was your most memorable Valentine's Day and why? Share below. We really want to know, and I'm sure Alyssa will be back later to check the comments to make sure we did as we were told. She'll also be responding to comments, as it looks like I'll be pretty busy with Kyle the rest of the day, if you know what I mean.

My True Love Cake

I got this recipe from the Taste of Home magazine a few years ago. It's really good and now I make it every year for Valentine's Day.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • FILLING:
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling, divided

Directions

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa and baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Beat in water and oil until smooth.
  • Pour into two greased and floured 9-in. heart-shaped baking pans. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Beat in cream and extract. Place one cake on a serving plate; spread with half of cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Top with 1 cup pie filling and second cake; spread with remaining cream cheese mixture. Make a heart-shaped indentation in center of cake; fill with remaining pie filling. Refrigerate until serving. Yield: 12 servings.
