She was out of her mind if she thought he was giving up on her that easily. When she turned and walked out again, panic registered that her clothes had been torn and she was covered in dirt. Something wasn’t right about her at all. She wasn’t the same woman he’d known and loved. The fear in her gaze told him that she was in danger. He raced out the front door and grabbed her arm, spinning her around.
