Great News To Share!

I'm doing a huge happy dance this morning. I sold the book Bound To Protect to my editor. Kyle and Erin are in it as well from Road to Recovery. This is such a relief because every author after they sell their first book wonders if they will sell another one. My editor and I had a couple of things to work out, and we're able to do that in the story. Now I've got to work on the revisions she sent me. Which should be interesting with the kids home for summer break. It shouldn't take long as there's not much unlike with Road to Recovery. I'll keep everyone informed of then it's set to release once I know more.

Here's my unofficial unedited blurb for Bound To Protect.

Katie Thomas has been living a secret life for four years to keep safe− that is. All of that is about to come to a crashing halt when her ex shows up again. She’s scared and not sure what to do, until she moves next door to fellow doctor, Chad Davis. He’s the last person she wants to live next door to, but one sizzling night together has her yearning for more. The only thing that stands in her way is what he wants in and outside of the bedroom. It’s a threat to everything she’d ever believed.

When her past comes back to haunt her, can she trust Chad enough or will it be too late?

Chad Davis has had a thing for her since he took on the job to protect her four years ago. The only thing is, she doesn’t know about her having protection. He’s determined to help bring her ex down for his own personal reasons and then to get on with his life−finally. Except one night of her in his bed and he’s not ready to give her up, even though she insists she’s not what he needs or wants.

Can he help her unlock her hidden desires and show her that this is more than a fling for him?

Six Sentence Sunday 6-25-11

This week's six comes from my book Road to Recovery it's available now. We see Kyle at a low point in his life.

Tears burned the back of his eyes. His knees shook and finally gave out. He dropped to the ground, his knees sinking into the mud as the pain gripped his heart, squeezing like a vice. He’d do anything to trade places with her. It should have been him. She was just an innocent child and didn’t deserve to die.

Six Sentence Sunday 6-19-11

This week's Six Sentence Sunday comes once again from my work in progress, but from a different spot.

He moved to walk around her, and she resisted the urge to turn around, but barley. Fingertips caressed her shoulders for a whisper than they were gone. His body covered her back the warmth seeped into her, causing her breath to hitch. Steve snaked an arm around her waist. Fingers danced along her stomach ascending toward her breast. He cupped one through her bra kneading like he had all night and day to discover her body.

Comments and Newsletters

I have a few different things to talk about this morning.

1.) I hate to change things again, but the comment thing I've installed to my blog to put it plainly it sucks majorly. I get emails saying someone commented, and then it doesn't show up, so I'm changing back just to bloggers. Sadly, all my comments I got with the new system will go away, but in the end this will be much better.

2.) I'm having to switch my newsletter from what I had been using because well it wouldn't let people subscribe. They wouldn't get the invite to click, so I can't have that. I've decided to go with a yahoogroup for right now until I can find a new newsletter thing that I like. So you can subscribe to the newsletter here.

3.) I'm also doing a group newsletter with other Pink Petal Books author's. I'd love for my readers to join us over there.

Love All Year Contest!

is holding a contest on her blog today. To celebrate Brazilian Valentine's Day, she's having a love scene contest this weekend, judged by literary agent Weronika Janczuk, of Lynn C. Franklin Associates, Ltd.!

Here's the rules.

To enter this contest, you should post a love scene from a finished manuscript on your blog this Sunday, June 12th. The excerpt must have a maximum length of 750 words, but it could be less if it ends on a hook (remember, sometimes less really is more). There is no minimum word count. To find out more or to sign up go here.

So here's my entry.

She had felt the connection as well. Her chest rose and fell, her breath had caught. Taking a step closer, energy zinged between them, and reaching out Chad pulled her flesh against his body. Her mouth opened slightly on a gasp, her hands rested against his chest. “Do you even know what your touch does to me?”

“No.” The whisper fell from her mouth as she zeroed in on his lips, before pulling back to his face.

“It makes me burn so damn bad. That I’ve got images of bending you over this sink and taking you right here right now.” She trembled in his arms. With his foot he pressed it between her legs, and spread her legs with his knee. With a curse he leaned in and took possession of her mouth as he pressed a hand under her ass to push her closer she moaned into his mouth. What was it about this woman that he couldn’t get her out of his system?

He got hard whenever she walked into a room. She didn’t need to say a word to him, just her presence did that. It had been this way for four years and he’d hoped it would eventually go away, but now that seemed unlikely. Sure, he’d had hard-ons before, plenty of times when a good looking woman walked into a room. This kind had never happened before; he was so hard he could pound concrete. He knew something was different about Katie.

He continued to eat from her mouth, taking the moan that slipped from her lips. Her arms slipped around his neck as her body relaxed into him. Just the way he liked her, relaxed and so responsive, unlike she was at other times. He could feel her arousal down into his toes, and need tightened in his stomach. Pulling back he rested his forehead against hers. Their breathing was labored and her emerald colored eyes turned darker.

“What was that?”
