Big News!

I have big news to share. My publisher emailed me last night to let me know that Bound to Protect is available in paperback now. I'm so beyond excited about this. News!

Before I get to my big news there's something I need to let my readers know. With a sad heart I won't be doing Eye Candy Monday anymore. Due to a blog post I read and doing some research on the matter I have decided to close it down. Roni Loren blogged about using pictures and what happened to her. I'm not going to go into details of it as you can read her post.

Basically, unless it's not free to use you can't on your blog or for anything for that matter. Are the chances high that it would be a problem? No, but I'm not taking the chance. It would be wrong for me to get mad at pirate sites having my books on them, and then use a photo that's not free to use. This includes going to google and grabbing pictures off of there. Roni gives some great advice and I suggest other authors read it as well.

Now onto my news...

Bound To Protect is going to print! I'm beyond thrilled about this. I don't know the paperback release date yet, but as soon I know I'll post the details.

Six Sentence Sunday

I've decided to continue with the same scene I had up a few weeks ago. Let's check in on Katie and see what's going on with her and the mystery man in her bedroom.

“Please, Kaden, let me up.”


His free palm roamed over her ass as it moved towards her back to her shirt. A moment later she heard something crash in the living room and her shirt ripped some more. The moans coming from Katie just about did him in. Chad lowered her onto the bed and the grip of her arms around his neck tightened. For a moment, she pulled away from the kiss.

“I’ve got you. I won’t drop you.”

A smile crossed her face and made his heart grip tighter against his chest. He was going to enjoy teaching her to be submissive.

“Take your shirt off,” he said with a gruff voice.

“What?”

“You heard what I said.” She stiffened and pulled her legs against her chest. Chad stifled a curse. He had to get his dominant side in check if he was going to reach her. He couldn’t go all “hard-ass” on her the first time. What she needed right now was reassurance that she was safe enough with him to truly let go.

“You’re not going to take it off?” Uncertainty laced her voice. .

“If I wanted to take it off of you, I would have.” Kneeling on the bed beside her, Chad promised himself to go as slowly as she needed. His gut told him she wanted this even if she wasn’t sure how it worked. How long have you been writing? seriously, just over a year casually for ever it seems.

What made you pick writing erotic? (Laughs) I didn't, I think it picked me

Are you the kind of author who needs a certain drink or snack near by when writing? If so what is it? Coffee and chocolate during the day and wine and chocolate during the evening

How has your life changed since becoming published? More dust bunnies more wine more er erotic thoughts, less free time

What can you tell me about your newest release?

What do you do when a drop dead gorgeous man turns up on your doorstep, demanding his wife? Who, it seems has stolen your identity? Find out why of course.

When Gray Reynard turns up on Jules' doorstep expecting to find his estranged wife and finds her instead both are surprised. Especially as the air between them sizzles. But before they can do anything about that sizzle they need to find out what is going on. Or so they think.

But life doesn't always pan out as you want, and Jules and Gray have to decide whether to work together or walk away from what they are feeling.

Excerpt

"Think positive." She advised him. "You might get the diary where I’ve written about making love on a pool table or having sex with David Beckham in a swimming pool."

The look on his face was priceless. She wished she could capture it and sell it. She’d make millions.

"You didn’t?"

"Well, not David Beckham, sadly. As for the pool table?  You’ll have to wait and see."

"Give me a diary," he said fervently. "I need pointers."

He doesn’t, she thought. He really doesn’t.

"Backwards." Jules decided. "You work through them from when you met her. If anything stands out, or seems weird, and pool tables do not come under the heading of weird, make a note of it. I’ll start from my book being published and go forward. How does that sound?"

"Long. But yes, I guess it’s all we can do."

Well, not all, she thought. I can think of several other things we could do. But they won’t help us read these diaries. As Gray laughed, the tone deep and sexy, she wondered if he had read her mind. But no, he had just read an entry in her most recent diary. Written the day before.

"A drop-dead gorgeous, play-your-cards-right-and-you-can-have-me man appeared on my doorstep. I thought all my birthdays had come at once, before I realized he was a real up-his-own-ass type asshole." He read her words aloud. "Pity, because I could do with a really good—"

"Enough!" Jules' cheeks burned and were no doubt scarlet. "Shit, shit, shit! I forgot I’d written yesterday. But why the hell have you got it? You should be reading three years ago." Mortified, she realized she’d picked up her current diary when she took all the others from her bag. "Think I’ll have that back, please."

"Hold on." Gray kept his right hand firmly on the diary, holding it in place while he wrote something under her entry, then handed it back.

"Thank you so much. Oh." She read what he’d written and her cheeks grew even hotter. "Oh, um, yes, er."

"Yes?"

"Just shut up, Gray. Please. I’m hot and bothered enough, and do not even say it. Yeah, I know, you could make me even hotter . . . oh, bugger it. I’ve done it again. My feet are in my mouth as much as yours are. In your mouth, I mean, not mine and . . . . Fu . . . . Stop this right now."

Gray lay half out of his chair, laughing so hard tears streamed down his face.

A second later, Jules was in the same state.

"Oh, God," she said when she could at last speak coherently. "I needed that. No more, though. No innuendos, no double speak. Nothing. We need to work."

Six Sentence Sunday

Since Bound To Protect releases on Jan 16, I'm going to be posting some snippets from that book for the next few Sundays. Katie is at work and someone she knows from her brother's FBI team came in, and they're talking.

“No. Call Alex. You need to get somewhere safe. Just take this motherfucking bullet out, and I’ll take you out of here.” His words touched her heart. Even though he’d been shot, it wasn’t going to stop him from protecting her. The men on Alex’s team were something else, that was for sure, and she was grateful.

“I don’t know. I just bought them to see what it was like.” She drew her focus to the molten look in his eyes and forced a deep breath into her lungs. “It’s nothing at all.”

“If that’s the truth, then I wouldn’t be able to smell your arousal,” he challenged.

There’s no way he could know––or could he? The thought made Katie’s stomach tighten even more with need.

Sexy Saturday

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve done a Sexy Saturday. I’ve been locked away in my editing cave doing edits on Bound To Protect for my editor. I should be getting a release date once these are turned in. So, as I was trying to come up with a topic for this week, nothing was coming to me. That is until today, as I was working on a scene, it hit me. Tattoos. My hero, Chad, has one and I won’t share what it’s for; you’ll have to read the book when it comes out.

I for one think they are sexy as hell. Some women might not think that way and, well, let’s just push that to the side for now. For me personally I’m not into having them up and down arms, or all over. That would be a major turn off for me, but a few well placed ones, well that’s hot. Really, with tattoos, it’s in the eye of the beholder what they think is sexy or not.

A lower back one can be sexy if it’s done correctly. Also, it would be hidden most of the time, which can be a turn-on for your partner. For them to know it’s there and no one else to know. On some women, it would show when they wore jeans, and that could be a sexy little tease.

The ones that I love are the arm bands, ones across the chest, and ones that cover the arm. I’m sure they have technical names, but I don’t know them; all I know is that they are hot. Now comes to the designs that people have put on their body. Some of them are downright ugly, there’s no other way to put it. Oh and let’s not forget that some people really need to think about where they place the tattoos before getting them. Some places are just a bad idea. For a woman on the boobs or stomach area are bad places as both can sag as we get older, and your once great-looking tat will look bad later. For men, I would have to say on the stomach as well for the same reason.
