Road to Recovery Release Day!

Today is the release day of my debut book, Road to Recovery. I'm super excited. This was a fun book to write and a challenge as the hero Kyle was hard to reign in with him being alpha. I've been about to burst all week waiting for today to get here. I'm sure I've been driving my family up the wall as well with freaking out about this day. So to celebrate the release, I have a prize package to give away. All you have to do is answer the question below. To buy the book, go to Pink Petal Books.

I'll be picking a winner on Sunday. So here's what you can win:

A homemade Eiffel Tower necklace and it a comes with some ear rings from Alejandra's Jewelry. Also I will be giving away a copy of the book.

What's the most romantic thing a significant other has done for you?

Life is beautiful... romantic... bight. This dreamy necklace has these lovely charms: an Eiffel tower and a pink rose, the necklace has also small crystal white pearls beaded on the side. The gold chain gives a whimsical and vintage feeling.

Excerpt

"Can I cut in?"

She jerked her head in his direction and shot him a dirty look. Kyle’s pulse raced as he glanced over her body. She wore a short skirt and halter-top. Her clothes flattered all the right places on her. She'd finished the look off with some sexy heels.

“No.”

The other man’s hands slid to her hips, pulling her closer. Kyle couldn’t miss the surprised expression that appeared on her face. Or how he wanted to rip the man’s hands from her hips at that moment.

“I believe it’s her choice who she dances with.”

“Listen, you had your chance before I asked her,” Dave barked back.

“Hello, I’m right here and can speak for myself. I’m not some toy.”

The other guy walked off in a huff, spitting something about jealous boyfriends. Kyle pulled her close. She flattened her palms against his chest. The heat from her hands seared him, as if there wasn’t a shirt as a barrier between her touch and his bare flesh.

"I never said I wanted to dance with you."

"Too bad. You’re going to."

"The hell I will." She took her hands off him and turned to leave, but he grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

Kyle placed her arms around his neck and molded her body to his. Like a switch, the arousal he’d seen in her eyes earlier flared to life. A sensual voice echoed around them as it blared from the speakers. She took a ragged breath before she moved with him.

She rolled her hips into him, and he pulled her closer, allowing no space between them.

His right hand trailed a slow path down her arm; goose bumps rose on her satiny skin. Kyle looked at Erin as his hand trailed down to her hips, her gaze on his mouth. He could tell what had happened earlier had affected her as much as it had him. He planned to kiss her before the night ended, but for now, he'd enjoy having her in his arms, keeping her wondering when it would happen.

She drew her focus to his eyes. “You're arrogant."

"Yes, and now we have that out of the way, let's move on, because it's not going to change."He bent closer to her and inhaled the cinnamon-orange scent that was only her. "Je tu vous embrasserai, donc à fond que vous oublierez votre nom, votre sucre.”

"Stop, doing that! I haven't a clue what you said."

He moved closer to where only she could hear him. “I said I'm going to kiss you, so thoroughly you'll forget your name, Sugar.” Kyle moved back and watched her cheeks flush pink as she contemplated what he'd said.

I wonder if you'd like to keep your romance writing skills sharp. I've just announced a romantic Friday group so if you're interested, we'd love to invite you along so we can learn from each other. Only been up a couple of hours.

Hmm, the most romantic thing the SO has done? For moi? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

When we were on our first trip overseas, my S.O. indulged my Ancient History teacher tendancy of wanting to go below ground in Italy and check out the ancient Etruscan lakes. It was rather romantic to be indulged this way and led to some rather romantic moments beside ancient water courses far, far underground. Don't get carried away - there was a guide with us, ha ha...xxxOOOxxx

  4. I thought Steve could never be romantic…he didn’t even believe in cards, for goodness sake! He would tell me, “If I can’t say it, I’m not going to pay someone to say it for me”! At this point we had dated for 3 years, and had been married for 3 years. In that time, we had lost a baby, had another baby, and my kidneys had failed. I was in and out of the hospital every few weeks. It just so happens in those last 3 years, I had been in the hospital for every major holiday! I was in for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, not to mention both of our birthdays and our anniversary! Well it was now July 4th, and once again I was back in the hospital at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. Steve called me and said he was coming to see me. Boy was I in for a surprise! Steve arrived with a 3 foot tall get well card! I guess that was to make up for 6 years of no cards! But, that wasn’t all! He asked how I was feeling, and I told him, “not too bad, why?” He told me that he had another surprise, but we had to wait until dark. So, I waited patiently until dusk, and he finally put me in the wheelchair, and we went up to the roof of the hospital. When we arrived at the top, I couldn’t believe my eyes! He had a little table set up on the top, complete with candles, and my favorite meal at the time (Arby’s Roast Beef and Potato Patties)! We sat down, ate dinner, and watched the fireworks from atop of the hospital building! I have never felt so special in all my life! Steve was a romantic at heart!

  5. My hubby is pretty romantic when he wants to be (and he isn't rolling his eyes at my romantic notions!). The little things get me like the time he set up all the solar powered lights in the garden to a massive heart and waited til i noticed from the upstairs bedroom - super sweet :)

Anyway, massive congrats on the release - not suprised you're excited, i'd be bouncing off the walls by now, LOL.

  6. Yay on the release!!!

Our first true date, he made homemade spaghetti. He didn't have a kitchen table so he improvised on his low coffee table with candles and the 'table' was set. Then he turned on some music and we danced.

  7. Oh I am SO proud of you!!!!!!!! This has been a long time coming!
The Most romantic thing that was ever done to me, was basically letting me sleep when I was sick on our anniversary one year. I was so sick and I so wanted to do something with him. But, I was never able to fully become aware of the day. He just let me sleep, made me food to eat while in bed, cleaned our home, and cared for our 4 children.
