What's the best e-reader?

I'm
looking to buy an e-reader soon, and there are so many choices that I have no clue where to start. At first I wasn't going to get one because I love to have the book in my hands while reading. Well, we moved to a small town without a Barnes and Noble close, and Wal-Mart only carries so many books and hardly any of the ones I want to buy.

So, I decided to jump in and give it a try. I've got Kindle and Nook on my PC. I'm not overly thrilled with Kindle for PC for reading, but am drawn to the Kindle outside of the PC. I do, however, love my Nook for PC. It seems to be easier on my eyes. Since taking the plunge, I buy e-books mostly now, and I have to say I love the instant they're bought they're on your reader and ready to go. For someone living in a small town without a bookstore close, that's just freaking awesome to not have to wait on books to be shipped. Also, no shipping cost either opposed to if I had the books shipped to my house. I'm sure my husband is thankful for that as I'm always buying books at least 5-6 times a month.

So, tell me. I really want to know. Which e-reader do you have and why do you love it? Between the Kindle and Nook, which is best to get? Does anyone know if you can upload the books from Nook onto the Kindle and vise versa?

  1. This is going to be great. I'm also a kindle or Nook novice so I have exactly your questions, Alyssa.

Well there's another. will the ePub versions I have on my PC will load onto either?

  2. That's a good question I'm not sure. I do know whatever is on your Nook on Pc will load onto your Nook if you buy it, and same for the Kindle. Not sure if what's on your Nook can be downloaded onto your Kindle. I broke down and bought me a Kindle supposed to be here on Monday.
